Experimental Plasma Sheath Characterization

2011-2012: The team at GT High-Power Electric Propulsion Laboratory has fabricated a variable-density plasma cell for investigation of plasma sheath behavior and trained a graduate student to run the research in following years. The team has also assisted with the development of the wall material sample controlled plasma exposure environment at GTRI. In year two, GT will begin experiments and begin installation of optical diagnostics to enable non-intrusive interrogation of the near-wall environment.
